How Found Season 2’s Major Death Impacts Sir Addressed By Mark-Paul Gosselaar

This article contains spoilers for Found season 2, episode 13, “Missing While Grieving.”Found star Mark-Paul Gosselaar opens up about how that major death will impact his character, Sir, for the rest of season 2. Before the return of the NBC crime drama, The O.C. alum Michael Cassidy was cast in what turned out to be a significant role. He played Christian, a grief counselor revealed to be Sir’s younger brother. The siblings had a fraught relationship and a complicated history, all of which culminated in season 2, episode 13, “Missing While Grieving,” with Christian dying in an apparent suicide.

In comments to TV Insider, Gosselar talked about how Christian’s death will influence Sir in future episodes. The Saved by the Bell alum said that Sir has theories about who might be responsible for the death, believing that it wasn’t natural. However, he stated that his loss won’t distract him since “everything that consumes [him] is Gabi.” He also sheds light on the complicated dynamic between the two brothers, explaining how Sir felt that Christian owed him because of how Sir protected him when they were younger:

“[Sir] is shocked and has theories of who it might be that did that. He definitely doesn’t think it’s by natural causes. So it kind of adds another layer to our universe of, yeah, there’s someone else that’s involved.”

“Christian wasn’t privy to some of the things that his mother did. So there was a level where Sir felt that Christian owed him something.”

Even though Gabi (Shanola Hampton) is not exactly fond of Christian, she doesn’t believe he took his own life and insinuates that he was set up. Suspicions seem to turn to the mysterious Heather (Danielle Savre), a potentially duplicitous lawyer who’s romantically linked to Gabi’s friend and co-worker Trent (Brett Dalton). She claimed that Christian attacked her, though something doesn’t seem altogether right about the new entrant in the story.

Someone claiming to be Margaret Quinn’s son comes back in Found season 2 episode 11, but to find the real Jamie, Gabi Mosely might need Sir’s help.

The episode featuring Christian’s death also has Gabi claiming to be done with Sir. She tells him as much while he’s behind bars, yelling after her and saying that they’ll always be family. His view may not be exactly right. But if they have a common enemy in mind, especially after the loss of Christian, that will likely mean that the show’s central complicated dynamic will be forced to continue for the greater good.

It Shakes Things Up

The crime drama, from creator Nkechi Okoro Carroll, has a supporting cast that includes Dalton, Kelli Williams, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, and Karan Oberoi. Each one comes with its own story, with a recent episode digging into the backstory of Williams’ character, but the core of the story goes back to Gabi and Sir. Christian’s death is a way of assuring that centrality for the possibility of Found season 3 and beyond.
