Invincible Season 4’s Battle Beast Arc Teased By Co-Showrunner: “He Just Wants More”

Invincible co-showrunner Simon Racioppa has teased Battle Beast’s (Michael Dorn) season 4 arc, explaining that “he just wants more” as his story continues. The last time Battle Beast had a major role in the story, he was discovered by Allen (Seth Rogen) aboard the Viltrumite prisoner ship where he and Nolan (J.K. Simmons) were being held. Upon freeing him, he became lost in space while fighting one of his captors. He was last seen at the end of Invincible season 3, being discovered frozen by a group of aliens who bring him aboard their ship.

Speaking with ScreenRant, Racioppa teased Battle Beast’s future during Invincible season 4, hinting that his bloodthirsty warrior’s nature will continue to guide his decision-making. The co-showrunner revealed the lion fighter will “get some more” of what he desires, seemingly talking about worthy opponents, such as Viltrumites, who he can fight to the death. Check out what Racioppa had to say about Battle Beast’s future below:

At the end of the last episode, we see that he survived his Viltrumite jailbreak earlier in the season, and he just wants more. More what? I think we know. I think he’s going to get some more.

What Battle Beast’s Rescue Means For Invincible Season 4

He’s Going To Get More Of What He Wants

Battle Beast has always been driven by the promise of fighting opponents who are as strong as him, no matter what side they’re on. This is why he was willing to fight Mark (Steven Yeun) during season 1, but later left after realizing he and the Guardians of the Globe were too weak to provide an equal battle. This mercenary-like mindset is what makes him willing to help Allen and Nolan, fighting Viltrumites due to the promise of a difficult fight. He holds no allegiances with any characters in Invincible unless they’re providing him the means to fight strong opponents.

Invincible has been a consistently quality series ever since it premiered in 2021, but these ten episodes manage to just beat out the others.

Having been rescued from the vast darkness of space, it seems like Battle Beast will have an important role to play during Invincible season 4. He already hates Viltrumites for capturing him, meaning he’ll be more liable to fight them whenever he’s given the chance. This would make him the perfect recruit for the Coalition of Planets based on pure strength alone. But given his unwillingness to fully commit to any particular side, it remains to be seen how much he’ll be able to help as the Viltrum Empire continues looming.

Invincible season 3 revealed there are less than 50 pure Viltrumites left in the universe.

Although it’s unclear what Battle Beast’s rescue will lead to for those familiar with the show, the comics provide answers as to what his next story arc is going to be. But, with Invincible season 4 featuring a storyline involving Damien Darkblood (Clancy Brown) not present in the source material, anything could be altered going forward. With the lion-like warrior clearly still hunting for a worthy opponent, it remains to be seen what this will mean for him once season 4 finally arrives.
