The Big Fix: A Jack Bergin Mystery is a new Audible Original podcast series starring Jon Hamm as private investigator Jack Bergin. A period piece follow-up to 2022’s The Big Lie: A Jack Bergin Mystery, The Big Fix tells the story of Bergin searching for answers to a brutal murder at the request of an old flame. The series is from House of Cards and Bosch co-executive producer John Mankiewicz, and has a cast which also includes Ana de la Reguera, Alia Shawkat, John Slattery, and Omar Epps.
ScreenRant is able to present a clip from The Big Fix: A Jack Bergin Mystery featuring Jon Hamm’s Jack Bergin and Sosie Bacon, the latter of whom is an actor known for her work in projects like 2022’s Smile. In it, Bergin questions Bacon’s character Robin, a potential killer, in the hopes of protecting her sister, Charlie. Check out the clip from The Big Fix below.
The Big Fix: A Jack Bergin Mystery Continues To Showcase Jon Hamm’s Range
Jon Hamm became a well-known figure thanks to his work in Mad Men, but he has since proven his ability to tackle just about any kind of role. Hamm hosted Saturday Night Live for the fourth time in April 2025, which, paired with his appearances in movies like Tag, show how goofy the actor is willing to be on camera. A long recurring stint in 30 Rock as the incompetent Dr. Drew Baird further highlights his ability for physical comedy. On the flip side, The Big Fix showcases how well the actor can hold an audience’s attention with his voice alone.
Like Mad Men, The Big Fix is also a period piece (it’s set in the 1950s), but it’s still a very different affair. Hamm’s ad man Don Draper is very different from Jack Bergin no matter where Mad Men‘s seven seasons take him. A closer comparion might be Hamm’s performance as Joe Finney, a detective the actor plays in Steven Soderbergh’s No Sudden Move, which is set in 1954. Bergin is even very different from Finney, however, thanks to Bergin’s determination to finding the truth, even outside the bounds of the law.
Interestingly, The Big Fix and its predecessor are not the only audio dramas Hamm is known for. He also starred in the scripted psychological thriller American Hostage, which is now being developed into a TV show with Hamm reprising his role. In American Hostage, Hamm plays a radio host turned accidental hostage negotiator, which is a very different character from the calculating Jack Bergin. Although no plans have been announced for Hamm’s Bergin to make it to the screen, the success of his past podcast project in making the jump could prove the possibility.
