The Tires season 2 trailer teases the return of Netflix’s workplace comedy with an 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, with a release date confirmed. Co-created by and starring comedian Shane Gillis, Netflix’s comedy series follows the employees of the struggling family-owned auto-repair chain, the Valley Forge Automotive Center. Today, Netflix shared a teaser trailer for Tires season 2, consisting entirely of one interaction between Steve Gerben’s Will and Shane, who receives a bonus check from his cousin, but he needs more money to “sustain his new lifestyle,” including his new shades, so he harasses him relentlessly for over a minute. According to its synopsis, Tires season 2 picks up “after the unexpected success of their big marketing idea” as “Will and Shane rush to grow personally and professionally without fully realizing the cost of doing business.”

Church has proven his comedic chops over the years, so he should fit right in with the cast of Tires. Church is playing Shane’s “immature” father, who is described as “a grown-up version” of him, which should introduce a new, but familiar comedic dynamic.

In the Tires season 2 trailer, Shane makes a joke about his sunglasses making him “look like a Dominican outfielder,” which is somewhat similar to the type of racially motivated humor that got him fired from Saturday Night Live, but was still invited back twice to host.
