As Doctor Who approaches 20 years since Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper led the successful revival of the classic sci-fi series, the pair reunite for new adventures in Big Finish’s audio drama line. Eccleston’s Ninth Doctor encountered Piper’s Rose Tyler when battling the Nestene Consciousness in 2005’s season 1 premiere “Rose,” leading to her joining the Time Lord in the TARDIS. Despite helping him move past his traumatic past, the Ninth Doctor gave his life to save Rose, regenerating into David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor as Eccleston departed the series after a single season.
Big Finish has confirmed that Eccleston and Piper will reunite, reprising their roles in a new series of Ninth Doctor adventures. Alongside the announcement, a short teaser was uploaded to the official Doctor Who YouTube channel. Check out the teaser below:
