A new image posted by Selena Gomez has fueled speculation that a former Percy Jackson star has joined the Only Murders in the Building season 5 cast. Keeping up with the tradition that it established back in its first season, the hit Hulu comedy has filled up its roster of potential suspects with familiar faces. Oscar winners Christoph Waltz and Renée Zellweger have both joined Only Murders in the Building season 5, as have Keegan-Michael Key and Téa Leoni.
Gomez recently shared a post on Instagram, highlighting some of her recent experiences in photos. The eighth photo shows the main cast of Only Murders, including Steve Martin and Martin Short, posing with some of the new guest actors in a set photo. Former Percy Jackson and The Perks of Being a Wallflower star Logan Lerman is included in the group, standing between Zellweger and Waltz. Could He Be A Love Interest?
It should be noted that Lerman’s casting is not confirmed by an official press release. It could be the case that the actor is simply visiting the set of the Hulu hit. But considering that he is posing with the rest of the main and supporting group, it seems plausible that he’ll be among the names officially announced before the murder mystery debuts. In any case, if he is part of the Only Murders cast, there is one spot he could be filling.

Lerman, likely best known for playing the titular role in the Percy Jackson movies and leading the action series Hunters, could be playing the love interest of Gomez’s Mabel Mora. Very much like Charles Haden-Savage, Mabel has been unlucky in love. Lerman could turn it around or he could be just another suspect hiding in plain sight after the shocking Only Murders season 4 ending.

It’s The Right Call
The series, from creators John Hoffman and Steve Martin, sometimes gets into the habit of casting very well-known performers and then giving them little to do. This was the case with Melissa McCarthy in the previous season, brought on for a guest spot but not really adding much or getting the room to give the kind of memorable performance that audiences would want to see. If given a meaty role, however, Lerman could be the surprise when the show returns. As of now, though, Only Murders in the Building season 5 doesn’t have a release date.
