The cast of Percy Jackson & the Olympians has confirmed when season 3 production starts as season 2 of the Disney+ series inches closer to release. Percy Jackson season 2 is scheduled to debut on Disney+ in December 2025, adapting the second book in Rick Riordan’s series, The Sea of Monsters. In March 2025, the show was renewed for season 3, confirming the series would continue with an adaptation of The Titan’s Curse. It also emphasized Disney’s intention to keep adapting the Greek mythology adventure series.
Speaking with ScreenRant‘s Liam Crowley, the cast of Percy Jackson confirmed that production on season 3 will begin in July 2025. Grover actor Aryan Simhadri revealed the production window, with Annabeth actor Leah Jeffries also confirming. Walker Scobell, who plays the titular Percy, said he’s excited for the season, with all three detailing how Annabeth will mostly be absent from the storyline of the forthcoming episodes. Check out what the stars had to say below:
Liam Crowley: Season 3 is coming up… Production in July? That’s what I’m hearing.
Aryan Simhadri: Yessir. We go up in July for bootcamp.
Leah Jeffries: That’s in like, two months.
Liam Crowley: I’m so excited for the Titans Curse adaptation.
Walker Scobell: Oh yeah. This is probably my favorite season, probably will be my favorite season to shoot.
Leah: Of course it’s their favorite season because I’m not there.
Walker: That’s exactly what I was about to say.
Liam: Every season someone gets separated. That’s just the theme right now.
Walker & Aryan: And this is the best season for it. I know, dude. It’s just us the whole time.
What Percy Jackson Season 3’s Production Window Means For The Show
Seasons Are Getting Produced At A Much Faster Rate
Percy Jackson season 1 ended in January 2024, with the show not getting officially renewed for season 2 until February. Season 2’s release window being at the end of 2025 puts a two-year gap between new episodes of the show. However, its early season 3 renewal indicates Disney doesn’t want this to happen again, especially given how successful its debut was for Disney+. Since the young actors will be getting older as the series progresses, it makes sense to keep gaps between future seasons as small as possible.

Disney+’s Most-Watched 2024 Show Is Great News With Season 2 Releasing In 2025 & 5 More Books To Adapt
Disney+ recently revealed its most watched TV show of 2024, and this statistic is good news for the series, which has plenty more story to tell.
However, season 3 going into production five months before season 2’s release shows just how much faith Disney has in the series’ longevity. The statements by Scobell, Simhadri, and Jeffries also emphasize how much the cast of Percy Jackson is looking forward to adapting The Titan’s Curse. Annabeth’s notable absence from the story means Percy and Grover will be taking center stage, offering an adventure that will feel quite different from the previous installments.
