Reacher’s Paulie Actor Reveals His Dream Roles In God Of War & Harry Potter

Olivier Richters, who plays the hulking bodyguard, Paulie, in Reacher, talks about his dream roles. Richters, who is also known as the Dutch Giant, joined the small-screen adaptation of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels in season 3, where he serves as a major villain and one of the biggest threats to Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher. He has been a pivotal addition to Reacher‘s cast in season 3 of the hit Prime Video series.

While talking with ScreenRant, Richters reveals his dream roles after playing a villain in Reacher. The actor admitted that once he heard about Prime Video’s God of War television adaptation based on PlayStation’s popular mythology-themed video game, he wanted to be in it and asked his agent to help him pursue the opportunity now that he has a relationship with Prime Video. Check out his comments below:

Last week it was announced by Amazon that they’re going to make God of War. Of course I want to be Kratos, but I don’t believe they would ever pick me for Kratos. I’m just too darn big. But there is a God that’s bigger than Kratos, and that is Týr, or also Thor. I asked my agent, “You have to pursue this for me. Amazon now knows me. Can Paulie play in God of War?” That’s one of my dream roles.

He further expressed interest in Harry Potter and Marvel and shared the specific roles he’d love to try. Read his additional comments below:

My other dream role is in Harry Potter–they’re going to make Hagrid, that [would] be crazy. And I still have the dream to play Colossus in Marvel–the human version. Those three are my dream rules I want to pursue.

His Dreams Are Realistic

The bodybuilder, fitness model, actor has been in several big-budget movies, including Marvel’s Black Widow, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, The King’s Man, and Borderlands. In the TV world, Richters has appeared in Gangs of London in addition to the Ritchson-led series, which marks a career high for the actor. His performance as Paulie has not gone unnoticed, and with Reacher season 3 spending a whole season building up to the final epic fight between Ritchers and Ritchson, it’s very likely that Paulie will open some doors for the Dutch actor.

What Is HGH? Reacher’s Insult To Paulie In Season 3 Explained

Jack Reacher insults Paulie in a uniquely hilarious way in season 3 by asking him about “HGH,” making it hard not to wonder what his insult means.

HBO is casting for their Harry Potter reboot, and Nick Frost is reportedly close to making a deal to be Rubeus Hagrid, previously portrayed by the late Robbie Coltrane in the Harry Potter film series. Since the deal is not yet finalized, Richters may still have a chance to get his dream role, although it would be a long shot. Marvel, on the other hand, has already cast the actor once in their films, so the chance of seeing Richters again in future MCU installments is more likely. No cast information for God of War has been announced yet.

Our Take On Olivier Richters’ Dream Roles

Richters Is In Need For Every Fantasy Series

Olivier Richters belongs in God of War, and it doesn’t matter which role he plays. Many have already been vocal about wanting to see Richters as Kratos in Prime Video’s God of War. However, video game fans have also been rooting for Christopher Judge to return to the role after having played Kratos in two games. Though it’s not hard to picture Richters as Kratos, he might be more suitable to play even more fearsome gods. Richters’ physical build is a strength, and Reacher is a great example where it’s used effectively.

Richters certainly has the ability to channel Hagrid, although he may be a little bit too tough for the role. Paulie is a terrifying villain in Reacher who is the exact opposite of the kindhearted Hagrid, but that doesn’t mean that Richters doesn’t have what it takes to be Hagrid. The truth is, there are many roles that are perfect for Richters in the television space, and, personally speaking, it’s really sad that he missed Game of Thrones.
