Rebuild The Galaxy On September 19

Star Wars Celebration 2025 has confirmed that Ashley Eckstein is officially returning to Star Wars as Ahsoka Tano in the brand-new season of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, releasing on September 19, 2025. Rebuild the Galaxy is a non-canon Star Wars show, and season 1 already proved just how creative, fun, and flexible the miniseries is willing to be. In fact, season 1 of Rebuild the Galaxy saw characters like Darth Jar Jar and surfer Luke Skywalker brought to life, reflecting how open the show is to playing with the rules of Star Wars.

Now, in a brand-new announcement from Star Wars Celebration 2025, posted on the Star Wars X account, Ashley Eckstein is confirmed to be returning to Star Wars as Ahsoka Tano in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past. In a panel with Star Wars actor Ahmed Best, who reprised his first Star Wars role as Jar Jar Binks in season 1 of Rebuild the Galaxy, Eckstein spoke about the opportunity to come back to Star Wars.

Specifically, Eckstein will be playing BrickHeadz Ahsoka in Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past.

As season 1 of Rebuild the Galaxy proved, this inventive show is really an opportunity for the franchise to explore the stories that canon Star Wars movies and TV shows could never really include. A prime example of this was the introduction of Darth Jar Jar to the Star Wars screen in the first season of the show. Although the Darth Jar Jar theory has become an incredibly popular one within the fanbase, it just isn’t something Star Wars is likely to ever make canon.

Jar Jar Binks is the most annoying character in the Prequel Trilogy – but could he really be Darth Jar Jar, Palpatine’s accomplice?

Of course, the same isn’t true for Ahsoka Tano, who is not only one of Star Wars’ best characters but also has only become increasingly important to the Star Wars timeline as time has gone on. It’s evident that Ahsoka’s future will primarily if not solely be explored in live-action, though, which means Rosario Dawson rather than Ahsley Eckstein continuing that story. Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past is therefore the perfect opportunity to bring the iconic original Ahsoka Tano actress back to the role.

Our Take On Ashley Eckstein’s Return

Getting To Hear Eckstein Voice Ahsoka Again Is Something To Be Celebrated

There’s been plenty of discourse about Ashley Eckstein and Rosario Dawson’s respective portrayals of Ahsoka Tano from essentially the moment Dawson was announced to be taking up the mantle as Ahsoka in live-action. However, the truth is, both Dawson and Eckstein portray Ahsoka perfectly, and one doesn’t need to detract from the other. Eckstein was the first actress to breathe life into Ahsoka, and Dawson was able to take that character from animation to live-action in a way that honored Eckstein’s portrayal and brought something new to the role.

Both actresses should be celebrated for their portrayals of Ahsoka, and that should certainly be the response to the news of Eckstein’s return to the role in Rebuild the Galaxy. Eckstein’s love for the character, the franchise, and the fanbase is always palpable, and it’s wonderful to know that she is reprising her role as Ahsoka Tano once more. The Star Wars Celebration 2025 news that Ashley Eckstein is returning as Ahsoka Tano in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past couldn’t be more exciting.
