Rick Hoffman is set to reprise his role as Louis Litt in NBC’s Suits L.A., marking the second original character to return to the franchise. Suits L.A., a spinoff of the acclaimed legal drama Suits, centers on Ted Black (Stephen Amell), a former federal prosecutor from New York who reinvents himself as a high-profile entertainment lawyer in Los Angeles. The original lead lawyer, Gabriel Macht’s Harvey Specter, will be visiting his colleagues on the West Coast for a few episodes this season.
According to Deadline, Hoffman will be reprising his role as Louis Litt in at least one episode of Suits L.A. season 1, with the potential for more appearances if the show is renewed. Despite Harvey and Louis’ tumultuous on-again, off-again friendship on Suits, the two characters will not overlap in their appearances.
What This Means For Suits L.A.
Another Pearson Hardman Partner Heads To The West Coast
Louis Litt has always been a larger-than-life presence in Suits. A master of corporate finance law, Louis is known for his neurotic tendencies, deep appreciation of the law, and his signature catchphrase, “You Just Got Litt Up.” By the end of Suits, Louis had risen to lead the firm now known as Litt Wheeler Williams Bennett. How he ends up entangled in the West Coast legal scene remains to be seen, but his expertise could be exactly what Ted Black needs.

I Can’t Get Over How Distracting Suits LA’s Office Layout Is
While the Suits LA premiere began with exciting storylines, its office layout was too distracting to pay attention to the plot developments.
With Ted struggling to keep his firm afloat after his partner’s betrayal, Louis could provide much-needed mentorship and tough love. Harvey is set to have a three-episode arc in Suits L.A., but Rick Hoffman’s continued presence depends on whether Suits L.A. season 2 happens or not. There’s no word yet on whether Louis has any past ties to Suits LA’s new lead, but creator Aaron Korsch recently revealed that Harvey and Ted met in N.Y. through a “prosecutors’ league baseball team” (via TVLine).
Our Take On Litt In Suits LA
A Familiar Face To Light Up Los Angeles
With Suits LA receiving mixed early reviews, the spinoff hasn’t had the strongest start. Creator Aaron Korsh initially wanted to let the series establish itself without relying too much on Suits alumni, but bringing back key players like Harvey and Louis makes sense. As two of the most iconic figures from Pearson Hardman, their presence could help Suits LA find its footing and draw in longtime fans. Louis’ return, in particular, brings both comedic charm and legal savvy, which could add some much-needed spark to the show as it works to define its own identity.
