Even after Surveen Chawla wrapped up Rana Naidu’s first season over two years in the past, she couldn’t shed her character of Naina Naidu. That’s why returning to the set for the collection’ second season felt like homecoming to her. “Whilst you’re doing an element, there’s a residual to it, and you recognize there shall be a second season. So, subconsciously, you don’t go away the character. I didn’t ever go away Naina. I knew her arc was incomplete. So, I left it open-ended,” says Chawla, who’s joined by Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana Daggubati, and Arjun Rampal within the Netflix collection.
Currently, a discourse across the business’s stance on new moms has emerged within the wake of the Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga fallout. The 2, who had been to collaborate on Spirit, had a disagreement when Padukone reportedly wished an eight-hour shift, amongst a number of calls for, as she was a brand new mom. Once we ask Chawla, who welcomed parenthood in 2019, about her expertise within the business, she says, “I communicate just for myself. I did a Netflix present quickly after I grew to become a mother, and I had all of the assist. I do know there’s a lot at stake. Past some extent, I’m positive I can’t be accommodated for. However at the moment, I received quite a lot of flexibility from my makers and the platform. If someone actually needs to solid you, they may accommodate [your needs]. And if it doesn’t suit your calls for, then it’s a must to be okay with it. You want to prioritise [your needs]. It’s important to be pragmatic and never anticipate the world to bow down at your toes.”
