The Bear & The White Lotus Stars Team Up In New Apple TV+ Series About Former Child Actors


The Bear and The White Lotus stars are teaming up for a new Apple TV+ series about former child actors, created by one of the series’ stars. There have been a plethora of impressive Apple TV+ original series that have become staples of the streaming service. This includes dramas like the thrilling Severance and the sci-fi show Dark Matter. However, comedic shows have also become popular on the platform as well, such as the ongoing series Shrinking and the upcoming Ted Lasso season 4.

Now, Deadline reports that The Bear‘s Ayo Edebiri and The White Lotus‘ Will Sharpe are teaming up for Prodigies, an Apple TV+ show created by Sharpe and executive produced by Edebiri. The romantic comedy series follows Didi (Edebiri) and Ren (Sharpe), a pair of former child actors who have been together since they were kids, now questioning if their current life is living up to their younger selves’ expectations. This includes wondering about the status of their relationship, given how long they’ve been with one another.

Production company Sister is involved in making Prodigies, having previously worked with Sharpe on Flowers.

Sharpe is no stranger to comedic roles, having played Ethan Speller on the cast of The White Lotus season 2, while he’s set to star in the upcoming Netflix rom-com TV show Too Much. He also has multiple filmmaking credits under his belt, having written and directed comedic movies like Black Pond, The Darkest Universe, and The Electrical Life of Louis Wain. His TV writing credits are for black comedies Flowers and Landscapers, making him very familiar with crafting funny stories on screens big and small.
