Wednesday’s Emma Myers Calls Season 2 Better Than Season 1, Teases Easter Eggs & Character Development

Wednesday star Emma Myers says that she prefers season 2 of the hit Netflix drama to season 1’s record-breaking efforts. Tasked with playing the colorful werewolf roommate of Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams, Myers’ Enid Sinclair quickly became a fan-favorite character following the show’s 2022 release. Myers and Ortega are just a few of the returning Wednesday season 2 cast members, with the show’s second installment also set to introduce a slew of new faces, including Joanna Lumley, Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Thandiwe Newton, Christopher Lloyd, and Lady Gaga.

Speaking with ScreenRant for A Minecraft Movie, due for theatrical release on April 4, Myers spoke about her forthcoming return as the effervescent Enid in Wednesday season 2. Suggesting that she prefers Wednesday season 2 over the show’s debut outing, Myers also revealed that the show’s next chapter will feature multiple Easter eggs and satisfying character arcs. Check out her comments below:

I like season 2 better than season 1, honestly. I think there’s a lot of cool little Easter eggs. I think everybody’s characters in this next season… I think people are gonna be happy with the development. Yeah, it’s a fun season. So I’m very excited for people to see it.

The Returning Show Has A Huge Benchmark To Meet

Responsible for accumulating 1 billion viewing hours by December 2022, the response to the streaming release of Wednesday season 1 was overwhelmingly positive. Reinvigorating widespread interest in the long-running Addams Family franchise, the show’s debut was an unquestionable success story for creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and director Tim Burton.

With many viewers already more interested in exploring Wednesday’s odd-couple pairing with Enid in favor of another forced love-triangle scenario, Myers’ faith in the new season will likely come as good news for fans eager for the show’s return.

Building on the precedent set by season 1’s monumental success, the weight of expectations being placed on Wednesday season 2 are enormous. Not only does the new season need to contend with the controversial departure of Percy Hynes White, but Ortega has already hinted that the new season will seek to distance itself from the romantic themes of season 1 in favor of a greater emphasis on horror elements.

Season 2 Can Build On The Best Part Of Season 1

For many viewers, the unlikely friendship between Ortega’s and Myers’ characters was the unquestioned highlight of Wednesday season 1. While it is encouraging that Myers’s comments hint at the continued development of the show’s other supporting characters, most fans are keener to see what new trials and tribulations will be placed on the unlikely pair of roommates. With the first season showing their connection blossom in spite of Wednesday’s trademark exterior coldness, it will be exciting to see how the two interact with one another when faced with a fresh set of challenges.
