Bullseye’s superhuman abilities may have received a visual upgrade in Daredevil: Born Again following his integration into the MCU proper. Benjamin Poindexter a.k.a. Bullseye kicked off the events of Daredevil’s first MCU series by assassinating Foggy Nelson in Daredevil: Born Again episode 1. After Bullseye killed Foggy, almost died when Daredevil retaliated, and was sentenced to life in prison, Daredevil: Born Again moved on to plotlines centered around Muse, Wilson Fisk, and Fisk’s police Task Force.
Bullseye returns in Daredevil: Born Again episode 8, where he hatches a plan to escape prison, starting only with a broken tooth. While Bullseye doesn’t take up too much screentime in Daredevil: Born Again episode 8, he wreaks havoc in every major character’s life. Against all odds, Matt Murdock saves Wilson Fisk from meeting the same fate as Foggy Nelson when Bullseye shoots him. Once again, Daredevil neutralizes Bullseye’s perfect aim with an unexpected move, but this time, it may cost him his life.
Bullseye’s Blue Lighting In Daredevil: Born Again References The Comics
Benjamin Poindexter’s Bullseye Alter Ego Is The Opposite Of Matt Murdock’s Daredevil Persona
Bullseye’s sharpshooting skills are limited in Daredevil: Born Again episode 8, but every time he seems to engage them, the whole frame turns a deep blue. Throughout Daredevil: Born Again, Matt Murdock is accompanied by subtle red hues, which symbolize his resurfacing Daredevil alter ego. Likewise, Benjamin Poindexter’s blue lighting represents his unstoppable Bullseye persona surfacing, apparently every time he’s feeling pressured or ready to let out his violent desires.

Kingpin’s actions as Mayor of New York City in Daredevil: Born Again offer the perfect set-up for the MCU’s upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Benjamin Poindexter’s blue hues are also a nod to his comic book roots. Bullseye’s classic comic book costume is blue, contrasting with Daredevil’s classic red costume. Daredevil: Born Again introduces a specific effect that suggests Ben Poindexter’s Bullseye alter ego awakens at certain moments, but Netflix’s Daredevil season 3 had already linked Bullseye to the color blue: most of Benjamin Poindexter’s scenes in Daredevil season 3 have cold blue lighting.
Will Bullseye Ever Get A Proper Comics-Accurate Costume In The MCU?
Benjamin Poindexter Might Be Getting Closer To Getting His Classic Comic Book Costume
Wilson Bethel’s Benjamin Poindexter wore a new costume in Daredevil: Born Again episode 1, years after impersonating Daredevil in Netflix’s Daredevil season 3. This costume is clearly inspired by the outfit he starts wearing in Marvel Comics’ Daredevil #20 — the closest Wilson Bethel’s character has gotten to wearing his iconic blue costume from the comics. Bullseye’s blue lighting in Daredevil: Born Again episode 8 suggests he’ll wear a more comic-accurate costume whenever he returns. After all, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is finally giving Daredevil his chest emblem.
