Prey For The Devil BTS Clip Highlights Impressive Stunt Team [EXCLUSIVE]

Screen Rant is pleased to present an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from Prey for the Devil, which is having its digital release on December 13 before coming to 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD on January 3. Distributed by Lionsgate, the chilling exorcism thriller tells the story of Sister Ann (Jacqueline Byers), who believes she has been called upon by a higher power to become the first female exorcist. With demonic possessions on the rise, the Catholic Church reopens a school for exorcisms, and Sister Ann is welcomed under Father Quinn’s (Colin Salmon) tutelage.

But Sister Ann’s spiritual lessons get thrown a curveball when she and Father Dante (Christian Navarro) attempt to save the soul of young Natalie (Posy Taylor), who may be possessed by the same demon that once took hold of Ann’s own mother. As suggested by the original trailer and promotional material for Prey for the Devil, Ann soon realizes that this long-buried evil has been expecting her all along. What ensues is a battle between good and evil directed by Daniel Stamm (whose debut film 13 Sins was highly regarded), with some gruesome yet fascinating fight sequences.

What To Expect From Prey For The Devil’s Home Release

The credit for Prey for the Devil‘s inventive exorcism scenes cannot go entirely to Stamm despite his background in horror projects like the Scream series, or to the screenplay by Robert Zappia. Screen Rant‘s exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from the upcoming home release introduces stunt coordinator Asen Asinov and some of his impressive performers. Asenov explains that while Prey for the Devil is not an action movie with set fight choreography, the stunts must reflect the war within each soul. Stamm himself applauds them for their on-the-spot quick thinking, detailing how often they would send previs videos with new ideas for complicated sequences.

Aside from the massive shock of seeing a 10-year-old actress climb up a wall with only the help of some wires and the support of the stunt team, Prey for the Devil‘s home release is sure to have a few more things in store for fans. Given that the 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD come in a two-disc set, audiences can expect some more interviews and behind-the-scenes glimpses that explore how the exorcisms in the film were crafted. The physical sets will also include a digital copy, enabling owners to watch the horror movie wherever they are. Both the DVD and Blu-ray (or 4K) versions include the following:

  • Audio Commentary with Director Daniel Stamm and Actress Jacqueline Byers
  • Possessed: Creating Prey for the Devil
  • A Lullaby of Terror
  • The Devil’s Tricks: Visual Effects

In addition to those, the Blu-ray and DVDs contain:

  • Prey for the Devil Cast-Read: The Original First-Draft Screenplay
  • Speak No Evil: A Real Exorcist and Church Psychologist Discuss Possession

Prey for the Devil is being distributed by Lionsgate, which has kept very busy in 2022. Other recent releases include Roland Emmerich’s Moonfall, as well as Nicolas Cage’s hilarious adventure comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and Kevin Smith’s long-awaited Clerks III. Prey for the Devil has a runtime of 93 minutes and is rated PG-13 for thematic elements, terror, brief language, and violent and disturbing content.
