Prakash Raj comes out in support of Deepika Padukone over saffron bikini row; calls trolls ‘Besharam BIGOTS’ | Hindi Movie News

Makers of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Pathaan’ recently released the first song, ‘Besharam Rang’ from the film and it has been grabbing headlines ever since, but for all the wrong reasons.

The song and the actors are being trolled for various reasons. Some think that the song looks cheap, others have also opposed the use of the colour ‘saffron’ in the last portion of the song.

Slamming the people who are trolling the song for the colour of Deepika’s outfit, actor Prakash Raj took to his twitter handle and wrote, ‘#Besharam BIGOTS.. So it’s okay when Saffron clad men garland rapists..give hate speech, broker MLAs, a Saffron clad swamiji rapes Minors, But not a DRESS in a film ?? #justasking’.

The song also received a reaction from state home minister Narottam Mishra. He said, “Actress Deepika Padukone’s costume is highly objectionable and the song has been shot with a dirty mindset. The scenes and costumes of the songs should be changed, or we will have to take a decision on ist screening in Madhya Pradesh,” Mishra said while accusing the actress of supporting the ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang.

Not only him, leader of opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Govind Singh also added, “The scenes of the song and costumes are highly objectionable. Such things are not acceptable in Indian culture.”

‘Pathaan’ will mark Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the silver screen after his four years of sabbatical. The film is slated to hit the theatres next year in January. Directed by Siddharth Anand, it also stars John Abraham in the lead role.
