Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt breaks her silence and responds to the public criticism that her husband, Chris Pratt, has received for several controversies. Schwarzenegger is the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and has been married to Pratt since 2019. She is also a best-selling author and has written several self-help and children’s books. She and Pratt share two daughters, as well as Pratt’s son, Jack, from his previous marriage to Anna Faris. While Pratt is best known for starring in the Guardians of the Galaxy films and Parks and Recreation, he has received backlash on several occasions for problematic social media posts and affiliations.
In an interview with The New York Times, Schwarzenegger addresses the backlash Pratt has received. Given that she comes from the affluent Schwarzenegger family and her father is a highly recognizable actor and former politician, having the public talk about her and her family is something that she is accustomed to and learned not to respond to at the advice of her mother. As a result, she has a simple reaction to the criticism towards Pratt and explains why it doesn’t impact her. Check out her statement below:

Chris Pratt’s Controversies Explained
One of the biggest controversies Pratt has been involved in actually stems from a tribute he wrote to Schwarzenegger. He made the post in November 2021 and expressed his appreciation for her and the love they shared. However, what should’ve been a sweet tribute quickly sparked backlash when Pratt thanked Schwarzenegger for giving him a “gorgeous, healthy daughter.” The comment seems innocuous, but many perceived it as him throwing shade at his ex-wife Faris, as it is well-known that their son, Jack, was born with health complications due to premature birth and suffering a cerebral hemorrhage.
There is no evidence that Pratt meant the comment in that manner, but those who saw it as intentional quickly slammed the actor for allegedly throwing a very tasteless slight at Faris and involving Jack in it. Pratt later revealed that he “cried” after receiving the backlash and worried what his son would think if he saw it one day. However, that is not the only controversy Pratt has been involved in. He came under scrutiny in 2020, too, when it was alleged he was a member of Hillsong Church.
Hillsong Church has been riddled with controversy due to its anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-abortion ideals. Pratt has since denied that he was a member of Hillsong Church, but that hasn’t stopped him from being labeled the “worst Chris” out of the many famous actors named Chris in Hollywood. Further social media posts have also landed him in hot water for being insensitive to the deaf community and claiming he’d be a corrupt cop if he wasn’t an actor, among other issues. While public opinion on Pratt may vary, Schwarzenegger likely won’t be responding to the situation further as she focuses on their private life instead of public criticism.
