Avatar: The Way of Water Box Office Estimate Day 2: The film jumps by 12% on Saturday; collects Rs. 46 crores


The James Cameron directed Avatar: The Way of Water is on an excellent run at the box office in India. After emerging as the second biggest opener of all time for a Hollywood film in India by collecting Rs. 41 crores, the epic fantasy jumped by 12% on Saturday. According to estimates, Avatar 2 has collected in the range of Rs. 45 to 47 crores on its second day, taking the two-day total to Rs. 87 crores.

The film has seen a jump in all markets, i.e. Hindi circuits, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka & Kerala, however, the collections have seen a nominal dip in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. This was expected as the first day in Telangana was running at record levels for a Hollywood film.

Avatar: The Way Of Water is headed towards a weekend of Rs. 130 crores in India, thereby clocking one of the biggest opening weekend of all time for a film in India. It will also be the second biggest start for a Hollywood film in India and the epic fantasy will enter the Rs. 200 crore club in no time.

The performance of Avatar 2 has ensured that 2022 is ending with a bang and now it’s the hold in the collections on Monday & the trend from thereon that will tell us how far can the film go. Rs. 250 crores is assured and if Monday stays around Rs. 20 crores, then the entry into the Rs. 300 crore club is guaranteed. Avatar 2 numbers in the Hindi Circuits too range from good to very good.

The film collected around Rs. 18 crores on the first day, followed by the second day of about Rs. 21 crores, taking two day total to Rs. 39 crores. The Hindi circuits will clock a weekend of about Rs. 63 crores.
