Avatar: Way Of Water Box Office: Film sells over 4 lakh 40 thousand tickets before release; surpasses KGF 2 advance sales 2 days before release


One of the most highly anticipated, and of course talked about releases is the James Cameron directorial Avatar: The Way of Water. The film, which takes the story from the previous, releases Avatar ahead, has been making headlines weeks before its release. Now, as we near December 16, the film’s release date, advance booking for the film that opened a month in advance have been seeing a highly positive trend.

As per reports, Avatar: The Way of Water has managed to sell over 4 lakh 40 thousand tickets across major multiple chains in India for its first three days. With an estimated sale of 4,41,960 tickets sold early estimates predict a high double digit opening for the film. In fact, going by the current trend predictions have pegged between Rs. 30-40 cr opening day figures for Avatar: The Way of Water.

If that was not enough, when comparing the advance sales of Avatar: The Way of Water to previous box office money spinners, it comes as no surprise that the Cameron directorial has surpass the previous release KGF – Chapter 2 that saw sales of 4.11 lakh tickets in advance. As per this, Avatar: The Way of Water could see its opening weekend collections crossing the Rs. 100 cr mark with ease.

Currently, with two days still until the release of the film, it is highly likely that Avatar: The Way of Water will see a further increase in ticket sales. In fact, with positive reviews from critics in the domestic market, coupled with highly favourable feedback from international markets, it is estimated that the business of Avatar: The Way of Water will eventually emerge as the highest grossing film post the pandemic.
