Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attended a special screening of Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ in Bandra, Mumbai, on January 16, 2025. The screening was organized by Ranaut, who is also a BJP MP. She warmly greeted the Chief Minister upon his arrival at the theater.

Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’, which she directed and stars in, is set to release on January 17, 2025, after facing multiple delays. The political drama focuses on the 21-month Emergency period imposed by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from 1975 to 1977. Following a tussle with the Central Board of Film Certification, the film has received the necessary clearance and will finally hit theaters. Ranaut expressed her excitement for the release, encouraging audiences to watch the film, which explores a significant chapter in Indian history.
‘Emergency’ features a talented cast, including Kangana as Indira Gandhi, Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Mahima Chaudhry as Pupul Jayakar.
