Footage for Mercy has been shown at CinemaCon. The cast of the upcoming science-fiction movie is led by Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson, with the story following a detective who must prove his innocence after being accused of a crime.

At Amazon MGM’s CinemaCon panel, where ScreenRant was in attendance, a trailer for Mercy has now been shown. Check out the description of the footage below:

The trailer begins with Chris Pratt in a chair, with Rebecca Ferguson’s character on a big screen in front of him. She explains how the Mercy program acts as judge, jury, and executioner, and that Pratt’s character is charged with the murder of his wife. He has to prove his guilt falls below the 92% threshold, or he will be executed in 90 minutes. He has to gather evidence from various sources to prove his innocence. He uses the technology to recreate the scene to try to discover who killed his wife. We see him looking through text messages, video footage, etc. In doing so, his guilt rises to 98%, which he vehemently denies. He then contacts his daughter and looks through her videos. At that point, he discovers that someone was in his house – the person who potentially killed his wife. Most of the trailer is focused on Pratt in a chair and Fergusson on a screen talking to each other about the case and his guilt. The teaser ends with the timer counting down.

More to come…
