The 10 Best Movies in Theaters Right Now


March 2025 is ready to bring movies from different genres to theaters, and these, along with some of the biggest hits from early February, are now playing in theaters. 2024 was an interesting and successful year for the film industry, with big hits in different genres. 2024 brought movies like the comedy The Fall Guy, the drama Challengers, the horror movies Longlegs and Nosferatu, the sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the musical Wicked, and a lot more.

February saw the release of the rom-com slasher Heart Eyes, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Captain America: Brave New World, Osgood Perkins’ The Monkey, and the survival thriller Last Breath, among others. Now, joining them and more this week is Bong Joon-hi’s latest project starring Robert Pattinson, a fantasy adventure based on a short story by George R. R. Martin, and a disturbing horror movie.

Mickey 17

Mickey 17 is a sci-fi black comedy directed by Bong Joon-hi. Based on the 2022 novel Mickey7, by Edward Ashton, Mickey 17 follows Mickey Barnes, who signs up to be an “expendable” in the human colony Nilfheim. This turns Mickey into a disposable clone worker, and he’s sent on high-risk assignments his superiors know he won’t survive, as a new body is generated every time he dies. One day, however, the Mickey 17 clone is believed to be dead and is replaced, but when the two Mickeys meet, they panic as only one iteration of an expandable may exist at one time.

Night of the Zoopocalypse is an animated comedy horror movie directed by Ricardo Curtis and Rodrigo Perez-Castro. Night of the Zoopocalypse sees a meteor carrying a mysterious space virus crashing on Colepepper Zoo. As a result, the animals living at the zoo turn into gummi-like zombie mutants, led by Bunny Zero. Now, it’s up to young wolf Gracie and gruff mountain lion Dan to find a cure and stop the zombies from taking over the world.

In The Lost Lands is a fantasy movie directed by Paul W. S. Anderson and based on the short story of the same name by George R. R. Martin. In The Lost Lands tells the story of a queen, who, desperate to find happiness in love, sends the powerful and feared Gray Alys to the title Lost Lands to give her the gift of turning into a werewolf. Accompanying Alys is the mysterious hunter Boyce, and together they go through an eerie and dangerous world.

The Rule of Jenny Pen is a psychological horror movie based on Owen Marshall’s short story of the same name. Directed by James Ashcroft, The Rule of Jenny Pen is set in an assisted living facility, where a former judge is recovering from a stroke. However, he encounters a psychopathic patient carrying a hand puppet, with which he abuses fellow residents with deadly consequences.

Last Breath is a survival thriller movie directed by Alex Parkinson. Last Breath tells the true story of a group of seasoned deep-sea divers, who must battle the raging elements to rescue one of their crewmates trapped hundreds of feet below the ocean’s surface. Last Breath is the feature film remake of the 2019 documentary of the same name co-directed by Parkinson and Richard da Costa.

My Dead Friend Zoe is a comedy-drama directed by Kyle Hausmann-Stokes. My Dead Friend Zoe tells the story of Merit and Zoe, two Afghanistan veterans who met in the Army and became best friends. Back home, Merit struggles to readjust to life with Zoe, who is now dead but always by her side. All this while Merit also comes head to head with her Vietnam vet grandfather, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, as she becomes his caretaker at their family’s ancestral lake house.

The Monkey is a horror comedy directed by Osgood Perkins and based on Stephen King’s 1980 short story of the same name. The Monkey introduces twin brothers Hal and Bill, who find a vintage toy monkey in the attic that belonged to their father. However, what they could never have anticipated, was that, once the toy is activated, it unleashes chaos and death, and they can’t get rid of the monkey. Years later, now as adults, when inexplicable deaths start happening again, the brothers reconcile to finally destroy the cursed toy.

Facing eviction, Dreux and Alyssa rush to get the money so they can save their home, all while Dreux prepares for the most important job interview of her life. In addition to this, they also do their best to keep their friendship intact through all this chaos.
