Elizabeth Olsen To Star In FX Drama Helmed By Iron Claw Director

Elizabeth Olsen will lead the cast of a new FX drama series. Olsen recently appeared in The Assessment, which debuted at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, and in Netflix’s His Three Daughters, with her performance in the latter receiving critical acclaim. Other notable Olsen movies and television shows include Wind River, Love & Death, Ingrid Goes West, and Liberal Arts, along with her numerous performances as Wanda Maximoff in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As per Deadline, Olsen is now starring in the FX drama series Seven Sisters, which has received a pilot order, and is helmed by The Iron Claw director Sean Durkin. Seven Sisters‘ story sees a large family breaking apart when one of the sisters (Olsen) begins talking to a voice that no one else can hear, which leads to family secrets being exposed. The project marks the first time that Olsen and Durkin have collaborated since 2011’s Martha Marcy May Marlene, which was Durkin’s directorial debut.

What This Means For Elizabeth Olsen

She Will Be The Face Of A Compelling TV Series

Olsen is best known for playing Wanda in the MCU and has also received recognition for her roles in movies like His Three Daughters and Wind River. However, she has also excelled in non-MCU television with her roles in Sorry For Your Loss and Love & Death. Seven Sisters is an opportunity for Olsen to continue making an impact on the television landscape with a role that sounds as though it will be equally fascinating and unnerving to watch.

Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver have an extensive (albeit frustratingly confusing) history in Marvel Comics. Here are 10 of their essential stories!

After an FX drama series, Shōgun, was widely considered to be the best show of 2024, the network may be about to make another hit with Olsen leading Seven Sisters. In WandaVision alone, Olsen proved that she has incredible range as a dramatic and comedic actor. This series will be leaning more into the dramatic side of things, which is more than welcome given Olsen’s past performances. As only one of the titular seven sisters, it will also be intriguing to see who is cast to play her siblings.

Many Love & Death reviews did not give Olsen enough credit for her stellar performance, which is among one of my favorites in recent years. It was engrossing to watch Olsen play a complex woman over the course of numerous episodes. Seven Sisters will hopefully go far beyond the pilot episode, as I want to see Elizabeth Olsen take on a new complex character over the course of multiple episodes. Only this time, instead of navigating an affair and being charged with murder, her character will be dealing with a mysterious voice tearing her and her family apart.
