Jake Suspends Abby In Night Court Season 3 Episode 17 Sneak Peek [EXCLUSIVE]

Ryan Hansen’s (Party Down) Jake is back at Night Court, and ScreenRant has a sneak peek of his return. The two-part finale kicks off Tuesday, May 6 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, and features the reappearance of Marsha Warfield (Night Court 1986) as Roz, while introducing Critics’ Choice winner Michael Urie (Shrinking). Titled “Funnest Judge in the City”, the official synopsis for season 3, episode 17 reads: “Abby suspects the courthouse’s new “fun judge” may not be as fun as he seems. Gurgs must regain control when her new courthouse welcome video, starring Roz takes on a life of its own.”

In ScreenRant’s exclusive clip, Jake is forced to suspend Abby following a dispute with Michael Urie’s character. The “Fun Judge” jumps at the opportunity to fill in, and Abby insists that he’s enacting an elaborate plan to take over her court. Jake is unsure what to believe, and Nulman laughs off the accusation, poking fun at the mere prospect of wanting to be involved with the Manhattan Municipal Night Court.

An Overview Of Jake And Abby’s Relationship On Night Court

The Characters First Meet In Season 2, Episode 9, “Taught And Bothered”

Abby and Jake first meet in Night Court season 2, episode 9, when the staff take part in a “Sensitivity and Respect in the Workplace” seminar. Ryan Hansen’s character is the HR rep sent by the city to conduct the workshop, and he and Abby don’t get off on the best foot. The two have differing opinions on proper workplace conduct, but there’s a fine line between love and hate. Their bickering leads to a kiss at the end of the installment, officially kick-starting a romance between them.

Although they try to keep their relationship casual, Abby and Jake’s feelings for each other are stronger than they let on. Roz and Loretta’s wedding helps them come to terms with what they really want, and they become an official couple by Night Court season 3. “The Jakeout” sees the two confess their love, but also marks the end of their relationship. When Abby lies about stealing Jake’s duffel bag, he realizes he can’t trust her and breaks things off.
