Silo season 3 completes a major milestone, celebrating the occasion with a photo of star and executive producer Rebecca Ferguson. The Silo season 2 finale begins to answer how the show’s dystopian world came to be, referring to a dirty bomb and issues between the U.S. and Iran. It introduced new characters, a reporter and a politician, who will be key to unraveling the story. But the end is not in sight just yet, considering that Apple TV+ has confirmed that the popular Hugh Howey adaptation will end with season 4.

The streamer has confirmed that Silo season 3 has wrapped filming, sharing a photo of Ferguson from behind the scenes. The actor, who plays Juliette Nichols, can be seen standing in the center of the frame while doing ‘rock on’ signs with her hands. The show’s third installment does not have a release date announced. However, given that filming has concluded, the gradual countdown to season 3 can begin. Check out the tweet from Apple TV+ below:

What Silo Season 3 Means For The Show

Several Characters Are Left In Limbo

The biggest development, heading into Silo season 3, arguably connects back to the final minutes of season 2. Those final minutes introduce a U.S. congressman Daniel (played by Succession‘s Ashley Zukerman), while he’s on a date with a journalist named Helen (Iron Fist star Jessica Henwick). They are somewhat flirty until the journalist asks the politician whether the U.S. plans to bomb Iran, perhaps pointing to how the silos were created and why.

What Silo’s Pez Dispenser Means

Silo season 2’s ending flashback hints at how the duck Pez candy dispenser will eventually hold immense significance in the show’s overarching story.

The congressman departs, though he leaves the journalist with a Pez dispenser. It’s a reference to the University of Oregon, which Helen attended, and its Duck mascot. But as viewers of Silo know, the Pez dispenser is also seen in Juliette’s timeline. It says a lot about how the two eras, and how these new characters, could connect everything. The upcoming season will also have to address the death of Bernard (Tim Robbins) and other characters jockeying for power in the aftermath of his demise. As for Juliette, she’s returned to Silo 18.
