S.W.A.T. season 8’s filming wrap has been announced by Shemar Moore in emotional behind-the-scenes posts as the action drama comes to a close. In March 2025, it was revealed that S.W.A.T. season 8 would end the series, the CBS show getting cancelled after being on the air since 2017. Its fate comes after the series was originally axed with season 6, only for a fan campaign encouraged by Moore to give the series new life for another few years. However, the show is seemingly coming to a close for good this time.

Now, Moore has taken to Instagram to post an image of him and the rest of S.W.A.T.‘s core team, everyone happily posing during the show’s final day of filming. In his caption, the lead actor includes a heartfelt message about the series ending. In it, he celebrates how long the series has been on and the length of time the team’s been together, lamenting that it’s “not long enough.” Check out the image below:

In another image from Moore, the team can be seen standing next to one another, arms on each other’s shoulders as they pose more seriously against a green wall. The lead actor offered a caption thanking fans for sticking with the series for so long. His post illustrates just how tightly-knit the cast has grown since the show began, while also serving as a bittersweet moment following its cancellation. See the image here:
