Yellowjackets‘ second trailer provides a new look at season 3. The hit series follows a high school girls soccer team after their plane crashes in the wilderness, along with what happens to the survivors approximately 25 years later. Yellowjackets season 3’s story will pick up after the brutal winter in the wilderness has ended and as summer begins. In the present-day timeline, new secrets are revealed, and Hilary Swank joins the cast, although her character’s identity has not yet been revealed.
Showtime has now released the second Yellowjackets trailer that sees the girls thriving in the wilderness while questioning Natalie’s leadership. This questioning is rooted in Misty claiming that Natalie knows where Coach Scott is and that she may not deserve to be the leader. Ella Purnell’s Jackie, who died at the end of season 1, makes an appearance, likely in the same way as she appeared to Shauna in season 2. Decades later, Shauna claims that someone wants her and the other survivors dead, while Misty investigates. Check out the trailer below:

Natalie’s Predicament And Hilary Swank’s Character Stand Out The Most
After seeing her become the original Antler Queen in Yellowjackets season 2’s ending, season 3 will see Natalie potentially losing her power. She is already known to be one of the characters who survives in the wilderness and makes it back to civilization, but she will nonetheless find herself in a precarious situation in season 3. Sophie Thatcher’s young Natalie will have to carry the character’s story this season now that the older version of the character played by Juliette Lewis is dead.

As for the present-day storyline, there are new shots of Swank’s bloodied character, although the show is still keeping who she is under wraps. Like Van in season 2, she could be another survivor who was not included in season 1. It is also possible that she is playing the person who, according to Shauna, wants the survivors dead. Swank’s character says, “You really are insane,” but it is unclear who she is saying these words to, although there are many plausible candidates.

There Is Plenty To Look Forward To In Season 3
Both the past and present-day stories in Yellowjackets‘ timeline look intriguing. How Natalie manages to survive while the other girls turn against her will be fascinating to see and will provide more context for how Lewis’ version of the character acted in seasons 1 and 2. Beyond Swank’s character and the mystery of who wants the survivors dead, I am glad to see a glimpse of the Man with No Eyes, as this mystery with Taissa needs to be further explored. The Yellowjackets trailer is packed with enticing details that make the February 14 premiere even more exciting.
